Pesticide Registration
Licensed farms are only permitted to use agricultural pesticides that are registered with SFA. Suppliers of agricultural pesticides must register their products with SFA before they sell them to licensed farms.

Who can register agricultural pesticides with SFA?
Any person who manufactures, imports, distributes, supplies, or sells any pesticide products in 91̽»¨ can register their products with SFA.
What pesticides can be registered with SFA?
Only agricultural pesticides used in the cultivation of plants intended for sale in 91̽»¨ can be registered with SFA.
These include synthetic chemical and biological pesticides, growth regulators, and pesticides-containing biostimulants/fertilisers/soil conditioners.
What pesticides do not need to be registered with SFA?
Pesticides for non-agricultural purposes do not need registration with SFA. These include pesticides for export, industrial, public hygiene, landscaping, and household uses.
How much does it cost to register pesticides with SFA?
The registration fee is $465 per product (non-refundable).
How long does it take to register a pesticide?
It takes at least 3 months for the pesticide to undergo technical evaluation and registration.
How to register pesticides with SFA?
Step 1: Ensure you are eligible
Ensure that you have a valid registration with the as a business or company before registering.
Step 2: Ensure the pesticide can be imported
Before you can register, you must ensure that the import of the pesticide is permitted by NEA and NParks.
Only permitted pesticides for agricultural use can be imported and registered with SFA. Please check with:
NEA regulates the import, export, and sale of chemical pesticides that are listed as hazardous substances under the Environmental
Protection and Management Act (EPMA).
NParks regulates the import of biological pesticides or biological control agents.
You must submit a dossier of documents including a copy of your NRIC, your business profile, information about the product, a sample of the proposed pesticide label, etc.
You will receive an invoice from SFA at the registered business/company address.
The registration fee is $465 per product (non-refundable). You can make payment via AXS, GIRO or electronically via the SFA website.
Step 6: SFA reviews the application
SFA takes at least 3 months to process complete applications.
During this time, SFA will evaluate if the product:
is effective for its intended purposes
poses an unacceptable risk to human health, animal health or the environment
SFA may contact you to ask for more information or samples during the evaluation period.
Step 7: Receive Certificate of Pesticide Registration
If your registration is successful, you will receive a Certificate of Pesticide Registration together with a SFA Registration Number for the pesticide product.
You must comply with the labelling requirements. For example, the SFA Registration Number must be printed on every product label of the registered pesticide product. This will help farmers identify the pesticide products that are registered
with SFA.
